Realme was a very young brand at that time. It became very popular for its lower price tag and value for money. It had to compete against the established brand Xiaomi. And Realme became the best selling phone brand in one year.
Finally, they launched a flagship phone last month and it’s Realme X2 Pro. It’s an ambitious step for Realme. This brand is a perfect example of a brand that has become popular in one year. As it is Realme flagship phone, our flagship killer phone of Realme. So, definitely, it is offering Hi-end in specs and features. And its specs sheet will amaze everyone. If we talk about its battery and charging without the other segments, its experience would be unbelievable.
To be honest, as much as excited I am about its 90Hz refresh rate display snapdragon 855+ processor, I’m more excited about its charging time. And its look is almost like Realme X but its materials are updated. This Phone having Aluminium frame and glass 5 is being used in the rear. I have no complaints about its look and ergonomics. It’s a very handy device. But It looks boring at this time. The same design we can see on the Realme X, XT and X2 from the rear. As its higher price tags flagship phone, I hoped there is something new in design.
But under the hood, it has some fundamental changes. One change is a stereo speaker. The stereo speaker has better experience in real life, we all know that. It’s loud and audio separation is too good. It has a liquid cooling system. So we won’t face any problem like overheating at gaming or phone charging time. Plus point there’s 3.5 mm audio jack Which is Dolby Atmos Tunedand negative point is that it has no SD card slot. But in the 2019 perspective, its 128 GB storage is good enough for any use which is UFS 3.0 type storage. If anyone needs more storage, keep in mind about its the 256 GB variant. Talking about the variant, It has another color variant which is Neptune blue. But the white variant is better for a clean look from my perspective.
The notch is used rather than a pop-up module here for the display. Its size is tolerable but many users prefer notch more than pop-up modules. I had no problem personally if there was a pop-up camera super fast under-display fingerprint scanner stays bellow the screen. It’s faster than the previous generation. And it has a traditional face unlock system. For providing a better display, Realme didn’t miss anything here. It has a 6.5 super AMOLED panel. Its display brightness is 1000 nits which can be seen in a hi-end phone.
It is super sharp with FHD plus display. It has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut with gorilla glass-5 protection and its HDR10 supported panel which’s PPI 402 pixels. Its 90HZ refresh rate supported panel is the real deal breaking. In real life, we can understand that properly. For having a 90% refreshed rate, its UI will feel fluid. Still, It’s not my favorite from U though. For its high refresh rate, its animation transition is very smooth than before.
Though all games and apps are not supported on a 90Hz refresh rate some games are supported. With those games, you can see the difference with all other traditional displays. Definitely, it’s battery hungry but not aggressive as 1+ phone. You can go back to the 60Hz if you want. But I think you shouldn’t. Plus you can individually set which apps you want 90Hz refresh rate. Overall with a high refresh rate is great for the visual experience but with the 60 Hz refresh rate it has no DRAMATIC difference just provides a visually smooth experience.
But Realme X2 pro not only visually smooth but its specs obviously top-notch. First of all its storage type is UFS 3.0and its faster with reading & Write and we can understand it while opening and closing an app or playing games. There’s plenty of RAM 12 GB is max which is LPDDR4X.but 8 GB Ram seems to be enough for me. There was no problem with multi-tasking. On top of everything, its snapdragon 855+ processor gave more power to this device.
It was a processor for high tier smartphones in 2019. So there's nothing to say more about snapdragon 855+ processor. It was made by 7 nm architecture with a 2.96 GHz Clock speed processor. It will be at the top list for the next 2 to 3 years. So the powerful flagship is future proof definitely. This phone will be good for gamers for many reasons and one of them is its Hi-end processor and secondly, it's a stereo speaker which is better for the gaming experience.
Thirdly its super-fast charging system is a must-have thing for gamers. I told you before about its liquid cooling system which is very effective. So long time gameplay won’t heat up the phone much. And it’s gaming mood looks very good with very useful features. I think this powerful device has a weakness that is its UI. It looks sort of cartoonish. The Menu is not so organized. But that won’t bother you in real life. But I think its OS needs more polishing. We’ll get android 10, colorways 7 and many more at the beginning of 2020 and Color 7 will be customized for realme. Right now it has Color OS 6.1 on top of android 9 pie and it has system Wide dark mood. You can imply this on unsupported apps.
Its control center is minimal and cleaner than before. There’s always-on display mode but it's doesn't show notifications with all the essential sensors it also has got NFC, FM radio and call recording option. I told you I was very excited about it’s charging time. Because it gets fully charged in 26 to 27 minutes. It’s a breakthrough for smartphone charging and using. It has a sizeable 4000 mAh battery which is divided into two units. So there’s no heating issue with a 50w charging adapter .4000 mAh battery can give backup for one day.
But keeping the 90Hz refresh rate on can drain a little more power from the battery. Overall there we found 6 hours of screen on time. There’s nothing to be bothered about backup. When its charging time is less than 30 minutes. So we have come to the ending part of Realme X2 pro. Let’s talk about its camera. It has a complete camera set up in the rear like a modern smartphone. It has a primary 64-megapixel main camera, 13-megapixel telephoto camera, 8mp ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
There are some changes in hardware but its image quality is almost like Realme XT which I have used for a long time. As a daylight camera, it’s quite good. I told you before Realme’s image processing algorithms are beautifying friendly and the color of images is colorful and punchy. In detail, it’s the primary camera is still not the best. Overall many people like these colorful pictures. People who like color accurate pictures will get better results if they install g cam. On the other hand, Realme’s HDR processing was always better without the extra smoothness of the pictures of portrait mood.
The telephoto camera impressed me there's 2X optical zoom, 5X hybrid zoom, 20x digital zoom capabilities. It's 5x hybrid zoom modes pictures had me impressed and they were pretty much usable.20x digital zoomed pictures were not much usable considering clarity and sharpness which is natural. the telephoto camera doesn't support for portrait shot which is an incomplete thing to me. It is 8 megapixels wide-angle camera that has an 115-degree field of view. Those pictures were good as wide-angle pictures. On the daylight, we got crisp pictures on this camera.
This lens has autofocus support and we can get macro mode pictures that are not outstanding but average. The wide-angle camera is night mode supported. Night mode in this phone has done a pretty much decent job. The noise reduction was good, the grain level was less and the pictures were well exposed. On the other hand, its 16 megapixels selfie camera is very well in any kind of lighting condition and it also has a night mode and EIS.
It's video camera features are really useful in real life you can shoot 4k UHD video there's EIS plus super steady mode which is very impressive. All the cameras can be used for video and can be switched while shooting. And it’s very helpful in many cases. It has another good feature which is a portrait video where is background can be blurred in the video.you can find 960 FPS slow motion, the time-lapse option can be found in this camera.
I have been using Realme x2 pro for almost 1 month as my daily driver. Continuously switching between iPhone XS Maxus a flagship phone it has all the fundamental features. Though there’ll be missing some luxurious features like wireless charging, waterproofing. But its 90 Hz smooth performance, handy ergonomics, especially supercharging feature.
But its main drawback is its UI which is still not inspiring. Comparing to other segments, its camera is a kind average to me. I hoped its primary camera would produce a better picture. However, its official price is 30,000 Rupee in India and in Bangladesh a little moreHonestly, In this price range, overall Realme x2 pro is a better package undoubtedly.
